Interpretation of the Bible / Malachi 3:17

“On the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty, “they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him.”

The Book of Malachi is the last book of the Old Testament and is considered one of the prophetic books. In this book, God speaks to His people through the prophet Malachi to correct their unfaithfulness and restore their relationship with Him. Verse 17 of the third chapter of the book is especially poignant because God promises that those who faithfully follow Him will be considered His special treasure and will be forgiven.

In this verse, God shows us that those who faithfully follow Him are very valuable to Him. He considers them His special treasure. This is not only a way of identifying His followers, but also showing how much value He places on them and how important they are to Him. It can also be interpreted as a sign of God’s love for those who honor Him.

The verse also talks about forgiveness. God says that He will forgive them as a man forgives a son who serves him. This is an emotionally powerful image that shows us God’s love and forgiveness in His relationship with us. This shows us that God is willing to forgive us despite our shortcomings and mistakes if we repent and follow His way.
