Interpretation of the Bible / Acts 3:26
Acts 3:26 begins with the statement that God raised His Son and sent Him to bless us. The word “raised” here refers to the resurrection of Jesus, the key event in redemptive history. Jesus’ resurrection was the irrefutable proof of His deity and God’s power over death and sin.
God’s blessing through His risen Son
The second part of the verse tells us that God sent His Son to bless us. The word “blessing” in this context refers to the divine gift of grace and mercy.
Through Jesus, God offers us redemption, forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and all the blessings that come from our relationship with Him.
Conversion and transformation
The end of the verse tells us that the purpose of God’s blessing is for us to turn from our wickedness. Conversion involves a change of mind and heart, a complete turn toward God and His will.
Conversion is not simply the abandonment of our sins, but the transformation of ourselves into new beings with a new life and a new personality. Conversion is an ongoing process that leads us to a deep and lasting transformation.
