Interpretation of the Bible / Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
In Matthew 7, Jesus gives His disciples a series of instructions, including how they should treat others and how they will be treated in return. In verse 12, Jesus introduces what is known as the Golden Rule.
What is the Golden Rule?
The Golden Rule is an ethical principle found in many cultures, although it is perhaps best known as a teaching of Judeo-Christian philosophy. In its simplest form, the Golden Rule states that we should treat others as we would like to be treated. This includes a high degree of empathy and understanding for others, as well as a personal commitment to kindness and fairness in our lives.
