Interpretation of the Bible / 1 John 2:23
1 John 2:23 tells us about the importance of confessing the Son in order to have a relationship with the Father. When we deny Jesus as the Son of God, we forsake the path of salvation and eternal life.
Denying the Son is denying the Father
This verse reminds us that denying the Son also means denying the Father. That is, we cannot have a relationship with God unless we accept Jesus as our Savior. Jesus’ death and resurrection are the keys to our salvation. Confessing the Son means accepting His redemptive work and acknowledging that He is the way, the truth, and the life.
How can we confess the Son?
Confessing the Son involves accepting His redemptive work and following His teachings. We must repent of our sins and trust Jesus as our Savior. We must also live according to God’s commandments, love our neighbors, and share the message of salvation with others.
