Interpretation of the Bible / Philippians 2:9-10

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

God exalted Jesus above all else and gave Him the name that is above every name. This name refers to the power and authority that Jesus has as the Son of God and the Savior of mankind. The name of Jesus is worthy of worship and reverence, and it is in His name that we can be saved.

What does it mean to bow the knee?

The act of kneeling is a gesture of submission and reverence. In the culture of Bible times, kneeling before someone was a sign of respect and submission. In Philippians 2:9-10, we are told that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, meaning that all of creation acknowledges the authority and power of Christ.

Who is included?

The verses say that every knee will bow, in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. This means that all people, both living and dead, acknowledge the authority of Jesus. Even those who do not believe in Him will eventually acknowledge His power and authority.
