Interpretation of the Bible / Philippians 4:20
The Bible is full of praise, worship, and adoration for the one true God. Today’s verse brings us to one such expression of worship, in which the Apostle Paul declares, “To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever.” This statement makes it clear that the worship and glory belong to God and no one else.
Glory to God
The word “glory” refers to the exaltation and praise given to God. This praise comes from a grateful heart that recognizes God’s greatness and His love for us. Giving glory to God is a natural response to the wonders He has done in our lives and in the world around us. In this passage, Paul acknowledges that the only one worthy of all glory is God, and proclaims His greatness as He deserves.
Forever and ever
Paul also emphasizes that the glory is eternal. The phrase “forever and ever” means that the glory of God has no end or boundaries. It is something that exists today and will exist forever. This is a truth that may be difficult for us to fully comprehend, since we live in a world limited by space and time, but it is important to recognize the greatness and eternity of our God.
