Interpretation of the Bible / Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus calls all who are weary and heavy laden to come to Him and find rest. This message is set in the context of Jesus Christ’s public ministry on earth.

In the previous verses, Jesus spoke of His relationship with the Father and how He is the only one who can truly know God. He also spoke of His power and authority to heal and set free those oppressed by the devil.

Meaning of the verse

Jesus’ call in Matthew 11:28 is a message of hope and encouragement to those who are weary and burdened by life. Jesus promises that He can give these people the rest they need and free them from their burdens.

In a world full of constant demands and pressures, Jesus’ message reminds us that we can find true rest in Him. We no longer have to carry the weight of our worries, fears, and sins. We can find rest in Christ.
