Interpretation of the Bible / Psalm 139:4

Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.

In Psalm 139, the psalmist David expresses his amazement at the knowledge of God. This verse shows us the depth of God’s knowledge and His ability to know our needs and desires before we even express them verbally.

This divine knowledge goes far beyond our limited human language and thinking. It is important to note that although God knows everything, He still gives us free will. He does not force us to do the right thing, but rather gives us the opportunity to decide for ourselves.

The Omnipresence of God

Not only does He know our thoughts and desires, but He is also ever-present in our lives. Another reason Psalm 139 is so inspiring is that it reminds us that God is always with us, at all times and in all places, never leaving us. Even when we feel alone or hopeless, we can be sure that He is there for us.
