Interpretation of the Bible / Psalm 18:6

In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

The Book of Psalms is one of the most important sections of the Bible, and in it we find a wide variety of emotions expressed by the authors; from joy and gratitude to sadness and despair. In Psalm 18, David tells us how he cried out to the Lord in his distress and received an answer from God.

The term “called” in the Bible refers to calling or asking God for help in times of need or distress. In Psalm 50:15, God says, “and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” It is important to note that God does not promise to immediately resolve all of our situations, but He does promise to be with us at all times and hear our cries.

If we look at the context of Psalm 18, we will see that David was facing a serious threat from his enemies at the time. In this passage, David acknowledges his despair and pain, but also demonstrates his trust in God to hear him and answer his call. This is important to remember because we can often feel overwhelmed by our difficulties and not trust that God can find a solution to our struggles.
