May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.
Romans 15:5 is a call for unity in the church. It is a call to be on the same page with other believers who are guided by the teachings of Christ.
The verse begins with the mention of the “God of patience and comfort.” This expression refers to the God who is patient and comforts his children at all times. The next message is that God wants to give “the like-mindedness in Christ Jesus.” That is, God wants the church to have a collective conscience, so that everyone feels that Christ is their guide.
