Interpretation of the Bible / John 14:7
This verse is part of the Gospel of John where Jesus is speaking to his disciples before his crucifixion. In previous chapters, Jesus had promised to go to the Father, prepare a place for them, send the Holy Spirit, and told them of his love for them.
Throughout this conversation, Jesus had been emphasizing his relationship with the Father, and this verse is a continuation of that idea. Jesus makes a bold statement: if the disciples know Him, they know the Father. He is talking about the deep connection between him and God. Jesus is God, and to know Jesus is to know God.
The verse also says that from now on they know Him and have seen Him. This is a reference to the fact that Jesus is present among them at this moment. The disciples see it and hear it. But Jesus is also talking about something deeper: his relationship with the Father.
