Interpretation of the Bible / Proverbs 11:18

A wicked person earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.

The book of Proverbs is full of wisdom that helps us live a fulfilling and righteous life. Proverbs 11:18 encourages us to think about the importance of our actions and how they can affect our future.

The wicked deal deceitfully

The first thing to take away from this verse is that the wicked operate through deceit and lies. That is, the wicked use lies and manipulation to achieve their goals. Often, this means trampling on others or causing harm to those around them. The wicked do not care about the consequences of their actions and do not consider the impact they may have on others.

He who sows righteousness will receive a sure reward

On the other hand, this verse also shows us that those who sow righteousness will receive a sure reward. That is, those who act honestly and fairly throughout their lives will eventually receive their reward. Righteousness is a seed that bears fruit over time and always bears fruit for those who sow it.
