Interpretation of the Bible / Psalm 120:2

Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.

Psalm 120:2 presents us with a prayer in which the psalmist asks God to save his soul from lying lips and a deceitful tongue. The importance of this verse lies in its demonstration that lies and deceit can be dangerous to our souls, and therefore we must pray for God's help to protect us from these evil habits.

In this sense, it is important to understand that lies and deceit not only affect the image we project in the eyes of others but also our spiritual life. The path God left us in the Bible indicates that we must be honest and faithful in both word and deed. Therefore, the psalmist's prayer is an expression of zeal and devotion to divine values.
