Interpretation of the Bible / Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39 reminds us of the greatness of God’s love, which is so vast and infinite that nothing in the universe can separate us from it. The Apostle Paul tells us in this passage about the security we have as believers in Christ, because nothing can separate us from the love of God revealed to us in Jesus.

The meaning of height and depth

When Paul says “neither height nor depth,” he is referring to everything that exists in the universe, whether in heaven or on earth, in the visible or invisible world. That is, nothing that exists physically or spiritually can separate us from the love of God.

It is important to note that the word “all creation” in this passage refers to everything that was created by God, so even creation itself is subject to divine love and will.
