Interpretation of the Bible / 1 Chronicles 29:11

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.

Verse 1 Chronicles 29:11 expresses the greatness and authority of the Lord over all things in heaven and on earth. God is the owner of all things, and therefore all glory, victory, and honor belong to Him. This verse emphasizes God’s absolute dominion and supremacy in the universe.

The fact that God is the owner of everything in heaven and on earth has an important meaning in our lives. Often we cling to what we have: a job, a family, a home, money. However, in reality, all of these things belong to God. We are merely stewards of what God has given us. We must understand that everything we have is a gift from God, and therefore we must use it for His glory.

This verse also emphasizes God’s supremacy. He is the king over all, and his throne is the highest of all. He is the true ruler, and all other kings are mere mortals with limitations. God is the true owner of our hearts and our lives.
