Interpretation of the Bible / Ezekiel 36:26

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

The Bible verse Ezekiel 36:26 is a promise from God to the people of Israel, in which He promises to change the hearts of people who are far from Him and to lead us to a new life in His presence. Therefore, this verse is a message of hope and the grace of God in our lives.

In the text, God mentions His intention to remove the hardness of our hearts, which often distances us from Him, like a heart of stone. Hardness of heart leads to disobedience, rejection of truth, and sin, and is a sign of our corrupt human nature. However, God promises to change this by saying that He will give us a new heart.

The new life that this verse speaks of is life in Christ. When we give our lives to Jesus and receive the gift of His Holy Spirit, our lives are transformed. We are freed from our sinful nature, we are renewed and become new creatures. God works in us, forming our hearts of flesh.

This change of heart that God promises we must receive by faith. We must believe God’s promise and surrender our lives to Him so that He can work in us. The transformation that takes place in our lives is not something we can achieve on our own, but is entirely dependent on the power of God.
