Interpretation of the Bible / Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

In Mark 10:45, Jesus declares the main purpose of His coming to this world: to serve and to give His life as a ransom for all. In this verse, Jesus addresses His disciples and teaches them that power and influence should not be a source of pride and arrogance, but rather a tool for serving others. Jesus shows His followers that true leadership comes from serving and sacrificing for others.

Sacrifice and service

The main message of this verse is the power of service and sacrifice. During His ministry, Jesus not only preached about love and mercy, but He also demonstrated it in His actions. He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and gave hope to the hopeless. Even in the face of His own death, Jesus showed that He valued serving and loving others more than His own life.
