Interpretation of the Bible / Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
In the book of Philippians, the apostle Paul writes a letter to the church in Philippi to thank them for their help and support in his ministry and to encourage them to grow in faith and show genuine love for others. Philippians 1:21 is a well-known and popular verse from this letter that outlines Paul’s view on life, death, and faith.
In this verse, Paul expresses that his life was completely focused on Christ and that his death would be a step toward an even better life in heaven. For him, life is Christ and death is gain because it will allow him to be with Christ more fully and eternally.
