Interpretation of the Bible / Hebrews 9:28
Hebrews 9:28 tells us one of the most fundamental truths of the Christian faith: the Sacrifice of Christ. The only way for humanity to come close to God and be saved from sin is through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.
Only once
This verse tells us that Christ was sacrificed “once.” This means that Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was sufficient for all of humanity; we don’t need another sacrifice because Christ’s sacrifice was perfect.
Bear the sins of many
Christ’s sacrifice not only cleansed our sins, but also carried them away. He bore all of humanity’s mistakes and sins, including our own. Christ’s sacrifice gives us the opportunity to be free from sin and approach God with a pure heart.
He will appear a second time
This verse also tells us about the second coming of Christ. He will appear again to save those who are waiting for Him. It is a promise of hope and eternal life to those who believe in Him and look forward to Him.
