Interpretation of the Bible / Isaiah 12:4

In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.”

Isaiah 12:4 calls us to remember the importance of praising and worshiping God. In this verse, the prophet Isaiah reminds us of the need to acknowledge God's works and continually glorify His name.

The call to "sing to the Lord" in this verse is a call to praise God with our voices and hearts. Conversely, glorifying His name encourages us to acknowledge God's sovereignty and power over our lives and the universe as a whole.

Celebrating divine deeds

The second part of the verse calls us to "declare His works among the nations." That is, we should share the wonders and goodness God has wrought in our lives and in the world. Praise and gratitude to God should be shared with society to strengthen faith and love for Him.
