Interpretation of the Bible / Proverbs 19:21
One of the most famous verses in the Bible is Proverbs 19:21, which speaks of an eternal truth that we often forget in our daily lives. Humans are sinful by nature, and our thoughts can lead us to make mistakes and bad decisions. However, God’s counsel, recorded in Scripture, guides us to what is good, true, and right.
The human heart
The human heart is complex and unpredictable. It contains our desires, aspirations, fears, and hopes. We often allow ourselves to be carried away by thoughts and impulses without thinking about the consequences.
But we must remember that our hearts are deceitful, and only God knows them completely (Jeremiah 17:9). In Proverbs 19:21, the writer reminds us that even if our hearts are full of thoughts, this does not guarantee that they are wise or right.
The counsel of the Lord
The wisdom of God is greater than the wisdom of man. The counsel of the Lord can be found in Scripture, which serves as a guide for us in life. Through the Word we can find guidance for making wise and right decisions. God has given us His counsel so that we can live a full and abundant life.
The Bible is full of God's commands and examples of people who followed His will. By searching the Scriptures, we will find wise and reliable guidance for our lives.
