Interpretation of the Bible / Isaiah 57:15

For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”

Isaiah 57:15 is a beautiful example of God's greatness and humility. Isaiah portrays God as High and Exalted, the One who dwells in eternity—a description that emphasizes the omnipotence and omnipresence of our God. It's important to remember that the God Isaiah speaks of is the Creator of the universe, the Almighty, who created everything we see and everything we do not see.

The humility of God

But the most interesting thing about this verse is that God is not only great and omnipotent, but also humble and close to the brokenhearted. God does not reject the broken and humble who come to Him. On the contrary, He receives them with love and mercy, like a mother comforting her wounded child.

Reviving the spirit of the humble

This verse also says that God dwells with the humble to revive their spirit. One of God's greatest gifts is the ability to renew our spirit and give us the strength we need to persevere amid life's trials and difficulties. God gives us His Holy Spirit to help us overcome difficulties and guide us toward truth and life.

Reviving broken hearts

Finally, Isaiah speaks of God's ability to revive the hearts of the broken. This means that God can heal our emotional and spiritual wounds and give us new life. God can give our lives new meaning and purpose and help us find happiness and fulfillment.
