Interpretation of the Bible / Hebrews 6:10

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Hebrews 6:10 tells us that God is just by nature and that He never forgets our deeds and the labor of love we have shown for His name.

This requirement of justice is inherent in divinity, and many people throughout history have wrestled with this question: How can a just God allow evil and injustice in the world? However, this verse assures us that God is just and will reward our efforts in due time.

How can we understand God’s justice in this verse?

To better understand God’s justice in relation to our actions, we must take a closer look at the context in which this verse is found. In the previous verses, the author of Hebrews encourages believers to maintain faith and not fall into a life of sin. The author tells us that those in Christ are saved by grace and must continue to work toward a deeper relationship with Him.

Next, in verse 11, the author goes on to say that we are to pursue “the full assurance of hope to the end,” and in verse 12 he mentions the example of Abraham, who “by his patience obtained the promise.” These verses teach us that even though we are saved by grace, we must continue to work on our faith and persevere in our efforts.
