For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 is one of the most famous verses in the Bible that speaks clearly and powerfully of God’s love for humanity. God’s love is the motivation for everything He does for us.
Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. He offered a perfect sacrifice, without spot or sin, so that we could be reconciled to God. In His love, God gave us His only begotten Son so that we could live in Him and have eternal life.
John 3:16 also teaches us that salvation is by faith in Jesus. Whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. Faith in Jesus is the key to abundant life and the assurance that we will one day be with God in heaven.
