Interpretation of the Bible / Psalm 143:10

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

The Bible verse from Psalm 143:10 is a call to seek the will of God and follow the leading of His Holy Spirit.

What does “the will of God” mean?

In its simplest form, “the will of God” refers to God’s plans and purposes for our lives and the world as a whole. Even Jesus taught his disciples to pray for the will of God, saying, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).

In other words, we ask that God’s work be accomplished here on earth as it is in heaven, and that we conform to His perfect will.

Why should we seek the will of God?

Seeking God’s will is important because it allows us to know and follow the path God has laid out for us. God created each of us with a purpose and mission, and when we follow that purpose, we experience true joy and satisfaction in life. Moreover, by following God's will, we can help others and make the world a better place.
