Interpretation of the Bible / 1 Peter 2:24

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

1 Peter 2:24 reminds us that Jesus bore our sins in His body on the cross of Calvary. He suffered in our place to save us from eternal death and give us eternal life in Him. This verse reminds us of God’s great love for us, His children.

What does “sin” mean?

Before we delve into this verse, it’s important to understand what the word “sin” means. Sin is any action, thought, or word that is contrary to the will of God. We have all sinned, which means we have separated ourselves from God. But because of Jesus, we can have a relationship with God again.
