Interpretation of the Bible / Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
In this verse, Jesus is talking about the finiteness of the physical, material world in which we live. The things we see and the places we know will not last forever, as the earth and the sky will eventually pass away. Everything in this life will eventually pass away, but what about the Word of God?
What did Jesus mean when he said that His words will not pass away?
Jesus is saying that even if everything known passes away, His words will last forever. He is the Word of God (John 1:1), and His teachings and promises assure us of eternal salvation. Jesus’ words are consistent and unchanging, meaning that if we hold fast to them, we can be confident in their truth and power.
