Interpretation of the Bible / Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
In this famous verse from Matthew 5, Jesus speaks of the blessing of being a peacemaker. Being a peacemaker means having the ability to resolve conflicts and bring peace to those who disagree. Those who have this ability and practice it will be called children of God.
Being a peacemaker is more than just avoiding arguments and quarrels. It is being a person who can defuse a tense situation and help the parties involved come to a peaceful agreement. Rather than seeking violent solutions or imposing force, a peacemaker seeks peaceful solutions that respect all parties involved.
