Interpretation of the Bible / Galatians 6:2

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

The book of Galatians was written by the Apostle Paul to the churches of Galatia to correct some doctrinal deviations that had arisen regarding justification by faith. In this particular verse of Galatians 6:2, Paul calls the Christian community to help one another and share their burdens, thereby following the law established by Christ.

What does it mean to carry the burdens of others?

The verb “Carry” in this verse refers to the act of bearing with another person a burden that is heavy for them through love and service. These burdens can be physical, emotional, familial, or financial, and as Christians, this teaches us to give unconditional support to those under our care.
