Interpretation of the Bible / John 6:51

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John 6:51 describes the analogy between bread and eternal life. Jesus introduces himself as the “living bread” that comes down from heaven and gives eternal life to those who eat of Him. By speaking of his flesh as the living bread, He suggests that His sacrifice on the cross to save mankind is the source of eternal life.

The important point we can take away from this verse is that eternal life can only be received through Jesus. If we want eternal life, we must first enter into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Then, we must develop our relationship with Him by reading the Bible and praying continually.
