Interpretation of the Bible / John 14:2
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
John 14:2 is part of the farewell discourse that Jesus gave to his disciples the night before his crucifixion. In this discourse, Jesus tells his disciples about his death, resurrection, and return to the Father. He also promises to send the Holy Spirit to guide them and empower them to carry out their mission on earth.
This verse is a promise from Jesus to his disciples and at the same time a promise to all those who believe and trust in Him. Jesus tells them that there are many mansions or rooms in heaven and that he is going to prepare a place for them. In other words, Jesus is saying that He is going to prepare a place for them for his eternal home in heaven.
