Interpretation of the Bible / Proverbs 11:4
Proverbs 11:4 contains an important message that we must constantly remember in our daily lives. It is that no amount of wealth or material possessions can protect or save us when we face God’s wrath and justice.
This saying reflects on the futility of wealth and the importance of living a righteous life. If we analyze this proverb carefully, we will notice that it actually tells us two different things: on the one hand, the futility of wealth, and on the other, the importance of righteousness.
The futility of wealth
As for the first part of the parable, it tells us that wealth is worthless in the face of God’s wrath. In other words, no matter how much money or material possessions we accumulate, if we are not righteous and do not obey God’s will, it will all lose its value in the face of God’s justice.
The importance of justice
The second part of the parable shows us the value of righteousness before God. Although wealth cannot bring prosperity to a person, righteousness can be a means of salvation from death.
Moreover, it is important to realize that righteousness includes not only external actions, but also internal ones. This means that in order to be considered righteous, we must not only perform certain specific actions, but also have a righteous attitude in our hearts.
