Interpretation of the Bible / Ecclesiastes 5:19

Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.

The book of Ecclesiastes is one of the wise and instructive books of the Bible. In it, its author, presumably King Solomon, reflects on the pleasures, sorrows, and vicissitudes of life.

Enjoy divine blessings without guilt

Sometimes we feel guilty about enjoying God's blessings, either because we believe we don't deserve them or because we think it's better to be modest and avoid attention.

However, Ecclesiastes 5:19 reminds us that these blessings are God's gift, and therefore it is our duty to enjoy them. Of course, without falling into excess or arrogance, but always thanking the Lord for His generous blessings.

Work hard to enjoy blessings

Another important lesson from this verse is that to enjoy God's blessings, we must work hard. God does not bestow blessings and riches upon us magically or unfairly, but tests our capacity for effort and perseverance. It is our duty to strive for excellence in all we do and, as a result, to receive the rewards God has in store for us.
