Interpretation of the Bible / John 6:27
Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.
John 6:27 presents us with a very important and relevant teaching today. In this passage, Jesus is speaking to people about the meaning of life and work. He explains to them that they must work not only to obtain the food they need for the present moment, but also to achieve what is necessary for their eternal life.
“The food that spoils” refers to material goods that are temporary and which, although they satisfy our immediate needs, cannot provide us with long-term happiness and satisfaction.
On the other hand, “the food that endures to eternal life” represents spiritual and eternal values that will help us fill our inner emptiness and find true happiness.
