Interpretation of the Bible / Acts 1:10-11

They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Acts 1:10-11 refers to the moment Jesus ascends into heaven after His resurrection from the dead. His disciples, who had witnessed His entire earthly life, continue to look up into the sky after His disappearance. At this point, two men in white robes, possibly angels, appear and ask the disciples why they are looking up into the sky, letting them know that Jesus will return the same way He ascended.

These verses are of great theological significance because they show us the greatness of Jesus as the Son of God and establish the promise of His Second Coming. This is a fundamental belief in Christianity because it states that although Jesus ascended into heaven, He will one day return to judge humanity.
