1 Peter 1:18-19 is a remembrance of what Christians have achieved through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Christians were not saved by corruptible things like gold or silver. These items are considered corruptible because they are subject to degradation and decay. In contrast, the blood of Christ is incorruptible and will last forever.

The lamb metaphor
