The book of Proverbs is one of the parts of the Bible that teaches us the most about wisdom. In Proverbs 15:33, the author tells us that the fear of the Lord is the teaching of wisdom. The word “fear” may sound a little scary, but it does not mean fear, but rather a deep respect and reverence for God that leads to keeping His commandments and seeking His will for our lives.

This respect and reverence that we have for God should influence all of our daily decisions and actions. If we are seeking to know God and understand His will, then we are on the path of wisdom. Wisdom is not only knowledge, but also the ability to use that knowledge correctly and at the right time. In other words, it is the ability to apply God’s wisdom in our lives.

Humility comes before glory

The second important message in this verse is that humility comes before glory. In a society that values ​​success and personal gain so highly, the idea of ​​humility may seem old-fashioned or even weak to some. But what does it really mean to be humble?

Humility means recognizing our limitations and depending on God for everything. It means recognizing that we are not perfect and that we need help to overcome our difficulties and weaknesses. Modesty also helps us recognize that other people are valuable too, and treat them with respect.

On the other hand, honor is the recognition and respect given to us for our success or mastery of something. But if we seek honor above all else and are not humble in our attitude and actions, we risk falling into arrogance and pride. Instead, if we seek humility above all else, God will lead us to the glory that is ours.
