Interpretation of the Bible / Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are God’s workmanship. This means that we were created by God according to a divine purpose. It’s important to remember that this doesn’t just apply to those who believe in God, but to all of humanity. As humans, we are already God’s workmanship.

What were we created for?

The second half of the verse tells us that we were created to do good works. In other words, God has a plan for each of us, and He calls us to fulfill a specific purpose in our lives. This could mean helping others, being a good friend, a good leader, teaching others, and more.

How can we do good works?

Ephesians 2:10 makes it clear that God has already prepared good works for us. However, this doesn’t mean that we should just sit back and wait for opportunities to fall into our laps.

We must be mindful and involved in our community, helping others, and being responsive to the needs of others. We must be proactive in seeking out opportunities to do good.
