Interpretation of the Bible / Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Proverbs 16 is full of wisdom for everyday living. Proverbs 16:3 tells us to commit our affairs to the Lord, meaning that our actions and decisions are to be guided by Him and not dependent on our own limited and imperfect understanding. The word “commit” implies confidence in entrusting something to another person, and here we are taught to trust God to guide our affairs.

Our intentions will be done

By trusting in the Lord, we are promised that our intentions will be done. This means that our intentions and decisions will be supported by God’s power and wisdom. Instead of relying on our own abilities and knowledge, we can trust in His guidance and direction, which gives us confidence and a sense of security.
