Interpretation of the Bible / Psalm 86:11

Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.

Psalm 86:11 is a prayer by King David, asking God to guide him on the path of truth and strengthen his heart to fear His name. In this verse, David acknowledges that only through God can he find the right path and live in truth. This sincere and humble prayer reflects humanity's need to seek God in all things.

The importance of learning God's way

When we ask God to show us His way, we acknowledge that we don't have all the answers and that we need His guidance. God's way is the way of truth, and only through it can we find true happiness and peace. By learning God's way, we can make choices that will benefit not only ourselves but also others and society as a whole.

Establishing the heart in God

The second part of Psalm 86:11 speaks of David's strengthening of his heart. This means that God must strengthen his heart so that he does not stray from the path he has learned. Fear of God's name helps David understand the importance of remaining faithful to Him at all times. This prayer is a sincere request to God to help him remain in the truth and not stray from the true path.
