The Book of Proverbs is one of the wisest books in the Bible. And this verse tells us about the blessing that God gives us. We often wonder what makes our lives richer and happier. We may think it’s money, success, fame, or interpersonal relationships. But the truth is that none of these things alone can make our lives truly rich and happy unless we have God’s blessing.

What is the Lord’s blessing?

The word “blessing” comes from the Hebrew word “berajah,” which means “to speak well of someone” or “to strengthen someone’s strength.” The Lord’s blessing refers to everything He gives us in our lives, including health, provision, peace, protection, and happiness. It is a divine act that allows us to experience God’s unconditional love for His people.

How can this verse help us?

This verse reminds us that true wealth and happiness come from God. No matter how much money we have, how successful we are, or how many people we have around us, without God's blessing our lives will always be full of sorrow and disappointment. Therefore, we must seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33).
