Interpretation of the Bible / Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

Psalm 24 is a hymn of praise to God, glorifying His sovereignty over all things. Specifically, verse 1 emphatically affirms that the entire earth and all that is in it, including all the creatures that inhabit it, belong to the Lord, God.

What does the "fullness" of the earth mean?

The "fullness" of the earth refers to all the riches and resources it contains, such as water, minerals, plants, animals, and people. All of this makes up the world God created and called good by Himself in the book of Genesis.

How can this verse help us?

This passage reminds us that everything we have comes from God, and therefore we must wisely manage the resources He has given us. It also teaches us not to cling to material goods or earthly possessions, but to use them to glorify God and help others.
